Raimundo Otero Enríquez, PhD in Sociology, is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Communication Sciences (Universidade da Coruña - UDC) and member of the Territorial Studies Group (GET). His teaching career has focused on topics related to the teaching of statistics applied to the social sciences, multivariate statistical analysis and the design of research projects, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His main research interests are sociology and urban history, teaching innovation and statistical education. Recently, he has also carried out research in the field of food science. He has participated in 6 R&D research projects in competitive calls, in different innovation and teaching coordination projects, as well as in the development of 7 contracts and agreements with different administrations and private entities. To date, he has published a total of 20 articles in journals indexed in WOS and SCOPUS, 12 book chapters indexed in SPI, and a book (Sociología e historia de la ciudad desconcentrada, 2017) published by the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas. He has participated in 38 international, national and regional conferences. Finally, he has two five-year teaching periods and a six-year research period. In 2003 he was awarded the second national graduation prize. His thesis, entitled "Procesos internacionales de desconcentración urbana. Hacia un modelo de transición territorial", received the UDC's special doctoral prize (area of economics and sociology) in 2014. In 2023, he was awarded a certificate of excellence in teaching within the framework of the XI Docentia Programme of the UDC. Outside the university environment, he has developed a professional career of over a decade in the Galician market and opinion research consultancy sector.
