Abstract

This research analyzes the social representations of high school students about forced migrations. The study was conducted by using a questionnaire to two groups of students who followed a course based on traditional methodology and a positivist approach. The research explored students’ social representations about forced migration as a relevant social problem and their opinions regarding incorporating these topics as a structural aspect of Social Sciences. Results showed that students responded positively regarding incorporating these themes in the subject, which they considered useful; and we detected positive social representations towards migrants.
