Abstract
The dettached house in Collado Mediano, designed in 1964 by Alejandro de la Sota, was the only built project of his adventure with the precast concrete panels. Its uniqueness lay in the use of prestresed reinforced concree precast panels, which integrated structure and enclosure in the total envelope of the building, as well as other finishes and industrial materials outside the traditional domestic sphere at the time. The result, derived from the rationality of the construction, intended to be universal by the architect, and partly stressed by the local, was aligned with the desires of modernity in the search for a new architecture that at the beginning of the sixties, according to the historian of the architecture, Reyner Banham, it would not yet have materialized satisfactorily. The purpose of this thesis is the characterization of this architecture, differentiated in the professional career of the architect, for which the concept of tectonics of prefabrication is methodologically postulated as a specific category of tectonics, participated of the technological, the cultural and the inherent spatiality. From its tripartite consideration in its interrelation with the irreducible elements of the house, the domestic hearth, the stereotomic base and the tectonic envelope, the architectural essences found are distilled.
