Resumen

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects on the cognitive level of two groups of students of Early Childhood Education (49 subjects of 5 and 6 years old), after applying in the classroom of the Experimental Group different musical activities related to mathematics for two months, while the Control Group continued being taught solely with traditional mathematical activities. The used instrument was a questionnaire that the teachers completed before and after the implementation of the activities, after collecting the mathematical learning acquired by students through daily field notes. For data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Significant and positive effects on the performance of the Experimental Group were found in all items. It can be concluded that the use of music represents an excellent alternative in Early Childhood Education because it has a positive impact on learning.
