Abstract

Cross education phenomenon consists in strength transfer from trained to untrained limb. It can reduce both neural and structural maladaptation regarding affected limb after limb immobilisation or stroke. It is interesting to know how to modulate this phenomenon in order to optimize its effect modifying load parameters. It is known that set configuration can affect to metabolic and mechanic aspects regarding the strength, being a traditional ser configuration more fatiguing than a cluster set configuration. Moreover, bibliography reports than it is needed to use at least a 60% of maximum load in order to obtain strength transfer to untrained limb. After performing the studies designed to know differences between set configurations regarding cross education, it was observed that a traditional set configuration with sets close to muscular failures results in a significant strength transfer from trained to untrained limb.
