Dr. Soledad Muniategui Lorenzo is a Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of A Coruña since 2003. She has extensive teaching and research experience in the field of Analytical Chemistry. Since 2016, she coordinates the Applied Analytical Chemistry Research Group (QANAP), recognized as a consolidated and excellent group at the Galician University System. Her main areas of research are focused on the development of green analytical strategies and chromatographic and spectrometric methods for the determination of chemicals at trace levels in environmental, agri-food and industrial fields. Evaluation of priority, persistent and emerging pollutants, and degradation products (hydrocarbons, pesticides, PCBs, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, plasticizers, metals and organometallic compounds, endocrine disrupters and Microplastics) with specialization in air quality, water quality, marine environment, soils, food. Dr. Muniategui has participated in 50 R & D projects funded in competitive regional, national and european calls, 17 of them as responsible researcher and in more than 60 contracts / agreements with industries, public institutions and technology centres, most of them as principal/responsible researcher. She has supervised 19 Doctoral Theses (5 Extraordinary PhD Award). The results of her research have led to more than 280 publications in international scientific journals, 19 books / book chapters and more than 400 communications in conferences national and, mostly international of oral, poster and plenary types. She has participated in intercomparison studies of analytical methods and interlaboratory exercises at national and European level. It has 3 patents and utility models in operation. Participates in national and European Research Networks, as well as in various Organizational and Scientific Committees of congresses and meetings of national and international scope. ANEP evaluation of her curriculum vitae deserved the qualification of “A” (Excellent) in the external evaluation of the research groups of the University of A Coruña, Calls: 2012, 2015, 2018. Docentia Program: Excellent performance (2003-2008, 2009-2013, 2014-2018 and 2019-2023). She has held various academic and management positions: Head of the University Institute of the Environment of the University of A Coruña (2016-2024), former Secretary of the same centre (2013-2016); Director of the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the University of A Coruña (1997-2013) and Secretary of the same Department (1990-1997). Coordinator of the Master in Sciences, Technologies and Environmental Management of the University of A Coruña from 2012 to date, recognised as a Master of Excellence by the Xunta de Galicia; Coordinator of the Interdepartmental Doctorate Program "Environmental and Fundamental Chemistry" of the University of A Coruña (1997-2006, 2006-2011), with a Mention of Quality and Mention towards Excellence. Academic of the Royal Galician Academy of Pharmacy and currently Academic Treasurer. Vocal of the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry (SEQA), Member of the Galician Council for Food Safety of the Xunta de Galicia). Participation in the Technical Group on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) of the Spanish Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs. Member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AECOSAN)-Section for Consumer Affairs (2015- 2018). Ernesto Vietez Cortizo Research Award 2023 from the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences.
