Abstract
Georges Vigarello (1941) was a professor of Physical Education, a philosophy teacher and director of studies at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. A prolific author, he has published many essays and books of enormous impact and great success for decades. He is a specialist in the body and its representations. The summary of one of his lectures is included, as well as an interview with a reflection on violence in sport and Vigarello’s thinking. In addition, some of the titles of his books on the body, physical-corporal education and sport are listed.
