Abstract

The authors have carried out work dealing with how to improve the efficiency of the construction project management processes performed by the Spanish Civil Service, identifying and analyzing the main down-side risks and risk responses in these kinds of projects (risk that can lead to delays; cost overruns; scope, quality or functionality problems; or insufficient social benefit). In a previous communication to this Congress the authors have summarized that work, the methodology that has been used, and the resulting risk register. This paper presents a set of potential strategies and actions in order to reduce those risks, taking into account, among other issues, an analysis of the environments in other countries, developed by the authors. To avoid preparing an incomplete set of strategies, problems not involving uncertainty were also considered, and the corresponding potential response strategies were also included.
