Análisis de la sostenibilidad socioeconómica y medioambiental del sector transporte marítimo mundial en buques gaseros

Abstract

Currently, environmental pollution from ships is an issue of concern that generates numerous legal regulations at the global, European and national levels. In this context, the main objective of this doctoral thesis is to analyze the socioeconomic and environmental aspects of the world fleet of gas carriers. This objective is achieved using data from various sources and applying different methodologies, among which a contribution of this thesis stands out by developing a specific methodology for calculating the emissions of the gas carriers. The results of this Doctoral Thesis show the atmospheric emissions and the energy efficiency of the gas carriers, as well as their impacts on production, GVA, employment and global emissions. The method proposed and the results are usef ul for enterprises, ship operators and for lnternational Maritime Organizations.
