La construcción del revestimiento en la obra de Álvaro Sizala línea como materia, la geometría como construcción: análisis pormenorizado de dos de sus proyectos

Abstract

Through the analysis of two very different, almost opposing projects, in terms of their functional — a university faculty versus a restaurant —, in terms of the instrument used for their definition — hand drawings versus drawings made with computer software —, and in terms of their final result — one built and the other not built — such as the Faculty of Journalism in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and the Pai Ramiro restaurant in Porto (Portugal), the existence of a three-dimensional geometric structure is analyzed as a support for the definition of the spaces and their construction details and how this almost imperceptible geometric grid serves to define the larger and smaller scale, the macro and microcosm in these two projects and in transposition in the work of the prestigious Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza.
