Resumo
This paper presents an open-access teaching resource, aimed at students in their final years of secondary school or high school, focused on the field of preuniversity Artificial Intelligence (AI) education. Specifically, an activity is proposed to introduce the concepts of knowledge representation and reasoning in AI with a STEM approach. Students fully develop a Smartphone application using the App Inventor programming environment, following a project-based methodology. Specifically, the developed application is called "The School Path Guide”, and it aims to guide visitors of a school from one point to another by the shortest route using first-person images and considering possible collapse situations. Students must make a floor plan map of their school, take pictures of possible routes, create a graph representation from the map, and add empirical probabilities of collapse at the links. The programming must adequately represent the graph and it must allow for simple probabilistic reasoning about it. The proposed resource has been validated within the framework of the Erasmus+ project called AI+, led by the University of A Coruña, with very satisfactory results.
