Desempeño económico y atractivo de los puertos españoles en el mar Mediterráneo

Resumen

Los puertos han ido modificando tanto sus características como sus funciones a medida que avanzaban los procesos de integración económica. Estas modificaciones surgen con una doble lógica: la de atraer mayores flujos de mercancías y la de regular o realizar los servicios portuarios asociados. Nuestra aportación se centra en medir la capacidad de atractivo de los puertos, a través del análisis del caso de los puertos españoles en el Mediterráneo. Se lleva a cabo empleando un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales. Los resultados obtenidos subrayan las particularidades intrínsecas de cada puerto. También enfatiza las nuevas funciones y orientaciones de los puertos en la nueva era económica posterior al COVID-19. Las relaciones causales que se muestran en este documento podrían ayudar a los administradores de los puertos a tomar decisiones adecuadas.
