Abstract

Abstract : Fishing activities in the marine environment where they must cohabit with the exploitation of oil and mineral underwater resources are now a reality. Just like the conflicts that emerge in this regard. Diamonds in Namibia, tin in Indonesia, phosphates in New Guinea or hydrocarbons in Ireland or Falkland Islands are some examples of interference between fishing and the extraction ofthese non-living resources from the seabed. These conflicts will increase as technological progress is made to develop these industrial operations, which will be facilitated by increased consumer demand and the scarcity of certain minerals, as well as a reduction in the oil and gas reserve on land. In our paper, we try to present, first, this new reality that results from the convergence of different humanactivities in certain maritime areas. And then we examine the tensions generated by this concomitance of activities and its echo in international law and in EU law.
