Abstract
This paper presents a service-learning experience carried out in the subject Design and Polymer Processing of engineering Degree in Industrial Design and Product Development at the Uni versity of A Coruña. Undergraduate students taught a workshop focused on two groups of people at risk of social exclusion. The first one attended an employment Program and the second group was taking part of a Sewing Workshop arranged by Cáritas Diocesana Mondoñedo-Ferrol. The target of this activity is that the undergraduate students reach thetransversal skills associated with the experimental part of the course undertaking a community service. This service pursues a double goal; training for job search and teaching social values. All the activity stages are detailed in the present work. At the end, everyone involved (teachers, children, students) show a high degree of satisfaction. From this experience, we can conclude the usefulness of this tool in undergraduate learning
