Abstract

Graphic representation is the language of communication and one of the essential tools of architects’ thinking. Graphic representation is the language of communication and one of the essential tools of architects’ thinking. Mastering the universal graphic language requires a cognitive development process that needs time and that should begin in pre-university studies. According to diff erent sources, this preparation is less and less. One of the factors that could support the teaching of drawing would be to provide references in the area of Architectural Graphics (AG). Therefore, the main objective of this doctoral thesis is to develop a frame of reference on the research carried out in AG that provides practical applications of architectural representation. For this, a bibliometric analysis of the scientifi c production indexed in Scopus of the entire AG faculty of Spanish public universities is carried out. As a result, a reference framework based on quality scientifi c contributions, statistical evidence of how the doctor’s degree and the academic rank are related to these publications and their impact are obtained, as well as a list of indexed journals with a good reception of research in AG.
