Abstract

Technological advance has also had implications in the musical field. Especially with regard to recording, causing the spread of a significant number of recording studios, both professional and amateur. In the Galician region, where there is an important musical tradition in all its forms and styles, and which has a large number of music bands and various professional orchestras, the important work of the Compañía de la Radio Televisión de Galicia (CRTVG) stands out. The objective of this research has been widely met. The type of recordings made by this company and its impact at the social, artistic and educational levels have been analyzed. We have approached it through a mixed approach, making an analysis of the recordings carried out by the company between 2001 and 2018, and it has been completed with interviews with specialized teachers from both Conservatories and Music Schools. It has been verified that the CRTVG records mainly instrumental works, coming from mixed groups, mostly from folklore, traditional or popular. Finally, it is concluded that this company carries out a great cultural work of conservation and dissemination of Galician music, since its recordings have international reach and projection. However, there is a great lack of knowledge among music teachers, despite their educational implications
