Experiencias, desafíos y nuevos horizontes en la promoción de la terapia ocupacional desde la Sociedad Científica Nacional De Terapia Ocupacional (SOCINTO)

Resumen

In this editorial, we analyze the historical process of creation, development and consolidation of the National Scientific Society of Occupational Therapy (SOCINTO), as well as the main challenges and future plans, in its work for the scientific dissemination and promotion of the profession of Occupational Therapy. The greatest strength of SOCINTO consists in combining the professional and academic fields, which makes it an innovative and unique entity. After reviewing the process, which began in 2012, we conclude that SOCINTO will be fundamental as a point of consensus and technical-scientific help in the future development of this profession, through an optics in which aspects such as unity and shared effort should always prevail, in the direction of encouraging recognition of the key role that Occupational Therapy provides in society.
