Abstract

The complex relationship between archaeology and the Bible is analyzed through the study of a king of Israel, Jeroboam I, of an ancient city, Tirzah, and of an archaeological site in Palestine, Tell el-Far?a. The new archaeological excavations at Tell el-Far?a, by an international team, are providing new data for the knowledge of the Iron Age (X-VIII centuries B.C.) in the Levant.
