Resumo

Kicking is the most decisive soccer-specific skill. Kicking tests have been widely used to assess functional and sports performance in different populations. But none of them has been consolidated as a standard protocol, and there is no agreement in the literature about how these protocols should be. In this paper a viable protocol is described to record the maximum kicking velocity. A guide of observable criteria of correct execution is presented, so that professionals can guarantee the quality of the data.
