Abstract
In the article that we present below, an experience of teaching innovation is addressed within the context of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at UDC. Our proposal was carried out between the academic years 2009-10 to 2015-16 and was aimed at the students who were studying the subject of "Didactics of the English Language" in the Undergraduate Programmes of Primary Education and Physical Education, which were later reconverted with the implementation of the Bologna Plan in the four years Degree in Primary Education. The central idea of this innovative proposal is methodologically based on the principles of the Task Based Learning Approach (TBL) which were previously developed in a guided and gradual mode throughout the academic year. It basically involves the promotion of creative writing through the construction of short stories in English (between 100 and 300 words) based on an image or original photograph also drawn up by the students. Being a non-obligatory task in which creativity, originality and interdisciplinarity prevailed, as opposed to the repetitive and boring activities that usually occur in the English as a Foreign Language classrooms, it was possible to obtain highly revealing participation and successful results that encourage the authors to continue implementing innovative tasks of the kind.
