Resumo
Throughout his long career, Mexican architect Fernando Rodriguez Concha tackled construction projects of all kinds: religious buildings, community facilities, urban infrastructures, residential units and private homes. But his own house portrays him in a special way. Houses architects build for themselves often function as think tanks, places for formal or constructive experimentation, and thermometers of an author´s creative tension which are indicative of the path he shall follow during the rest of his professional life. The present case is no different. Rodriguez Concha’s house reflects his intellectual world as well as the circumstances of his family life. Although strictly speaking, this is not the typical progressive, evolutionary or incremental house (because it was not designed as such from the start), its main appeal lies precisely in its subsequent development.
