Abstract

Objective: to explore work impact on housekeepers’ occupations and health from an occupational justice perspective. Methods: a qualitative methodology was used, articulated from a critical approach and occupational justice perspective. Access to the field and information generation took place in May 2017, in the autonomous community of Galicia (Spain). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and reflective notebooks given to participants. Three women participated. Results: four themes emerged: "It is a tiring job", "Precariousness in the day to day work","Lace of occupations in a context of uncertainty" and "A collective fight articulated from occupational justice." Conclusion: in the daily life of their work, participants face a variety of situations that impact on their health and limit their occupational choices. Occupational therapy can contribute to the situation of female housekeepers in this context by identifying opportunities for the promotion of health and well-being
