Influencia de la terapia ocupacional en la realización de adaptaciones en el hogar de las personas en situación de dependencia.

Abstract

Objective: To examine the association between Occupational Therapy (OT) or the care of Social Services and the implementation of an adaptation of the home. Methodology: We reviewed the Baremos de Valoración de la Dependencia (BVD) applied by the researcher in homes, for 16 weeks, provided by prior dissociation. BVD were included in which recognized a degree of dependence to adult applicant. Measurements: age and gender; completion of a rehabilitation treatment; OT intervention through health system; Social Services used by participants. We studied the implementation of a series of 12 categories of adaptation of the home. Results: The intervention of formal care Social Services not significantly associated with home adaptation. OT perform through the health system is statistically significantly associated with the removal of barriers to the performance in the home of the basic activities of the dependent (p=0,005, odds ratio 4,91).Conclusions: OT is associated with home adaptation.
