Abstract

In this article we examine the importance of the motor function communication within the group discipline in rythmic gymnastics and its relationship to the competition results. As starting point in order to study motor function communication or practice driving we begin with two methodological approaches which, from our point of view match perfectly the one represented by Hernández Moreno and his functional parameters in order to define the internal logics and dimensions in a given sport and Rodríguez Ribas as variables upon which the motor strategy lies in any possible practice driving situation. Both are perfectly applicable. To the group motor situations in rhythmic gymnastics. For this analysis we determine in the first place what we understood as communication actions in rhythmic gymnastics and the different ways in which it may be presented in a group exercise and then, using a sample of 30 exercises taken from the latest Moscow 2010 world championships (15 exercises with one apparatus and 15 with two apparatus) we proceeded to examine their behaviour under the competition. Results prove that communication actions are present in great number and variety in the group exercises and that it does exist a significative statistically connection between the results and the obtained points in the competition, and the number and variety of the communication elements performed.
