Abstract
Globalization appears as a growing interconnection of national economies. The per-ception of that trend has given rise to different sensations and bets for the future. Diverse intrin-sic connotations regarding globalization can be either pessimistic or optimistic. The first ones make reference to the disappearance of all possibilities of action on the part of public powers, which would lead to a worsening process of social indicators, such as employment, a widening of the gap among the different strata of society, phenomena derived from social exclusion, in short, to the triumph of market over society. On the other hand, optimistic sensations linked globalization with the progress of societies, due to the increase of commercial exchanges and the abolition of obstacles for a perfect movement of goods, services, capitals, people and tech-nologies.
