Abstract

This work is part of a research project that aims to design an intervention program through which we try to give some insight about the role of large scale organizations in the integration of sustainable environmental attitudes in everyday life. The research arises from the acknowledgement of the need to promote a change in practices and attitudes of people towards the environment. In the current work we will disclose the results obtained in the first phase, which contains the evaluation of the proenvironmental attitudes, as well as the most relevant dimensions that characterize the environmental response. By means of a questionnaire, as our research method, our aim is to isolate each component implied in the attitudes, according to the Rosenberg and Hovland model (1960), as well as to obtain the dimensional structure which characterizes the evaluative response of workers in two large public organizations. The obtained dimensions are then analyzed with a multivariate methodology approach, and explained with reference to a set of environmental concern scales
