Abstract

In 2019, within the centenary of the Bauhaus school, and as part of the interactive teaching in History of Architecture 2, each group of students analyzed a case study, chosen freely. Throughout several face-to-face sessions, each group had first to justify the choice of the case, and then explain it in detail with the fundamental characteristics of its architecture, compare it with another similar examples of our contemporaneity and end up discussing the overcoming or validity of the principles established by the Bauhaus. In addition, each group was asked to choose the most significant image of their work and send it, with a square format of 1000 x 1000 pixels accompanied by a brief explanatory description of no more than 50 words. The objective was to make a joint presentation of all the cases analyzed through a website: mosaicobauhaus.wordpress.com. The result, presented as a collective mosaic, allows new readings, where each tile is related to the others generating original and unexpected connections. This experience has allowed us to approach interactive teaching in a new way, giving the voice to students from the first moment to define the process of the course together, step by step.
