Abstract

Numerous social-health care institutions participate on the Placement Modules (I to VIII) of the Occupational Therapy Bachelor at University of A Coruña. Almost one hundred occupational therapists participate in these modules as tutors-teachers so that students understand and apply knowledge related to clinical-community practice. Placement modules coordinators identified students’ perceived distance between the modules taught at the faculty and those developed in practice. Proposal.- Innovative teaching-learning action aimed to facilitate students’ decision making process to choose their placement using audio-visual technological resources. During the academic year 2018-2019, placement tutorsteachers created short videos explaining their work context and their experience as occupational therapists. These videos, available on Moodle, were used during placements organizational meetings where the students agree on which center will develop their placement. The audio-visual material was used as a bridge between university and social-health care institutions. Students (n = 50) and teachertutors’ (n = 13) perceptions of the experience were gathered using Mentimeter. Results.- Improvement in decision making, greater perception of control over an unknown experience and identification of this experience as a facilitator for the first contact with the practical context.
