Abstract
Fernado Távora is one of the key people in Portuguese s Mordern Architecture. Master of masters like Álvero Siza, he has lived during a time of repression, where different views and opinions about architecture were converging. The contribution of Távora s work, theoretical and practical. was an inflexion point to the portuguese architecture. His positioning and research about a Third Way, his national and international experiments were key points for the creation of a Portuguese Architecture with specific characteristics and based on the Modern Movement and the architectural popular tradition. The goal of this thesis consists in studying the way, through two projects and a series of research experiences until achieving the materialization of the Third Way.
