Abstract

The implementation of new methods of evaluation and management in the framework of the European Higher Education Area is one of the main objectives in the field of educational innovation. In this sense, the application of prospective analysis techniques can be considered as a tool for anticipation, diagnosis and decision making in the management and improvement of the different aspects of the world of university education. Accordingly to the above, this paper is an exercise of “educational prospective” for the curricular practicum of the Degree in Sociology of the University of A Coruña (UDC), through an analysis of its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) that allows us to assess the past, present and future of this particular subject. Namely, this approach to a prospective vision of practicum is applied with a double aim: 1st/ to make use of new methods of analysis and strategies that allows us to enhance the didactic quality of the practicum; and 2nd/ to improve the process of innovation in order to get a better knowledge of the management and the substantive elements of this subject. All of this, within the framework of the collaborative work launched by the practicum Teaching Innovation Group (UDC) since academic year 2016-2017.
