Abstract

Analysis of "A Lagarada" (1929), a play traditionally defined as a rural Dionysian tragedy, in order to review the presence and function of features of classical drama (focusing in particular on the allusions in the play to Euripides’s The Bacchae) and their juxtaposition and interplay with other mythical and symbolic elements of the work.
