Abstract
According to the lack of basic habitability at non formal African settlements and once we have verified that upside-down efforts to address the improvement of such areas, the Kaya Clinica team designs a new tool that looks for the empowerment of citizens living in such areas. The goal is to locate an office in the very heart of the slum where volunteer technicians will handle its services to community. The idea is to approach services to people in need of them but currently unable to get them. Service will be addressed by members of the local academia and their partners. The goal is multiple: improvement of habitat, exercise in real live problems and to research on procedures and appropriate technologies for habitat improvement. The experience is going to run for the very first time in Dimitrov district, north of Maputo. It is going to be tested as a replicable system.
