Resumo

No historical personage is as quoted in Thibaut de Champagne's extensive work as Philippe de Nanteuil. They composed three dialogue songs together, but the King of Navarre mentions Philippe many other pieces of his songbook. From these literary witnesses, we see that both poets maintained a very long and fruitful friendship. However, there are doubts and contradictions regarding the songs that Philippe composed alone. I will try, therefore, to clarify this question, which mainly affects the texts "En chantan m'estuet complaindre" (R 126) and "Pour mal temps ne por gelee / Ne lairai que je ne chant" (R522).
