Abstract

The main purpose of this work is to analyze the present situation of Galician textile and clothing industries and the future developing and growing managerial strategies in a global economy and textile world trade liberalization basis, due to World Trade Organization and Multifiber Agreement. In one hand, these matters have created Galician textile companies an excellent opportunity for growing in foreign markets, but on the other hand, it supposes a clear productive process activities relocation threat, because of low labour costs countries competition. Due to this new highly competitive environment and to the impossibility of maintaining a low costs competitive advantage in a long time term, as it was explained before, new emergent economies like China, India or Pakistan offer rather low labour costs, the strategy option based on a focus product differentiation shall be proposed as the most appropriate for the Galician textile companies future developing.
