Resumen

Approaching Cultures through English is an attempt to represent the interaction of peoples and culture, by contrasting the diversity of cultures in English-speaking communities expressed in the English language. The essays contained in it deal with multicultural issues, questions of identity, historical and literary perspectives of cultural topics, aspects of language and culture in the classroom, stereotypes, self-images, and underlying values in different English-speaking communities around the globe. Diversity is also represented in the authors themselves since they live, work and study in very varied contexts, a fact which enables the reader to appreciate different viewpoints, according to each author's origin and experience. All, however, are eager to interact and learn from each other about the fascinating issues in which they have a common interest.
