Abstract

This doctoral thesis provides the means to implement the concept of Safety in the design of Shipyard projects and proposes how to integrate this discipline into the organization of the Shipyard. This concept of safety engineering makes us go to the "System Safety" concept, defined as the application of technical and management knowledge for the identification and early and systematic control of hazards throughout the entire life cycle. of the project, program or activity with the purpose of ensuring that the safety risks that we identify in the project designs are controlled and can be accepted, within the operational limitations, o suitability, time and cost throughout the entire life cycle of the project. This application of safety in engineering from the design of the projects provides, in addition to greater product safety, cost and time savings and, more importantly, prevents damage that may occur, not only to people and the environment, but al so its products, in terms of functionality and mission for which they have been developed. This thesis provides "how" to eliminate most of the causes that lead in accidents from the designo Therefore, with the application of " Systems Safety", we can argue that Shipyard products are "Safe' '; that is to say; that all system safety risks are considered acceptable and all system safety requirements have been met in accordance with the " Systems Safety Policy 'established in the Shipyard.
