Resumen
This thesis, which is entitled: The exploration and construction of cultural heritage knowledge by way of graphical formalisms, attemps to raise awareness among cultural heritage agents and, by extension, among the population as a whole “as esential agents in the creation, valorization and custody of cultural heritage” , of certain tools belonging to the knowledge technologies, particularly the Cultural Heritage Abstract Reference Model (CHARM). But more than that, this thesis aims to demonstrate the importance that certain practices, such as graphical representation, and certain disciplines, such as architecture, have had (and continue to have) in knowledge generation processes and the production of sense in the Western world and their relationship with the conceptual modelling currently used in software engineering. In order to do so, it considers the great themes of memory, the art of memory, spaces, images, imagination and invention, drawing attention to the fact that attempts have historically been made to control these aspects with the aim of dominating knowledge generation practices and thought systems.
