Resumen

The present doctoral thesis covers, from an interdisciplinary perspective, some of the institutions which derive from the medieval code of the Siete Partidas and are currently active. Thereby, this thesis examines, starting with the life, work, and normative legacy of Alphonse X the Wise, the formal author of the Partidas, the origin, nature, contents and characteristics of the act of boasting, with reference to other related themes. In the process of development and legal and doctrinal reconstruction of this institution of the act of boasting, from its medieval origins until the present, we have also focused on the study of legal precedent, both of the Supreme Court, as well as provincial courts (audiencias), which constitutes a useful tool for the XXI century, and represents, in this respect, a proposal for regulation of the action in the context of our Law of Civil Indictment.
