Las "serventías" en Galiciaestudio histórico-jurídico de una institución peculiar

Abstract

The present study aims to determine the evolution suffered and the most outstanding features that would characterize in the past and nowadays the so-called “serventías”, specifically, in the Galician legal-civil scope, as well as, and more generically, in that of other regions of the Spanish State in which its existence is also recognized. To do this, we resort to the critical analysis of the various doctrinal contributions carried out over time around the figure and its problems from a historical, anthropological, sociological and legal point of view, as well as the contributions of the courts collected in the judgments issued in different judicial instances that have been dealing with various aspects related to this controversial and peculiar institution.
